These boots are made for walking.

I'm obsessed with rain boots. Perhaps it's because when I first moved to the city, I saw women adorning them around each bend in various colors, styles and heights. They seemed like the “it” fashion staple in order to call yourself a city person.

I soon realized that these adorable rubber wellies are more of a necessity than anything else. This past summer, the T broke down between Cambridge & Boston -- & I was forced to walk home in a pair of gladiator sandals while it down poured. My shoes were ruined, my feet were water logged & I was miserable. The next week, I was gifted a pair of wellies (from a fellow city slugger; thank you Crystal!) & it changed my life.

My Friday favorites are dedicated to various rain boots -- that can be worn from Spring to Winter, in rain or snow. Trust me, they are worth the investment & come in all different calf sizes with adjustable straps & styles. You will be complimented for looking posh even on the ugliest weather days & your feet will thank you.

Kate Spade is the quintessential designer of prep meets classically chic; a perfect style for New England & the JCrew laden streets of Boston. This season she has unveiled a line dedicated to her love for all things navy. &, well, Beauty & the Bean has quickly fallen in love, too.

Here are our few favorite pieces from this season's collection:

The Bailey Dress: Jackie O. with a modern twist.
Perfect when paired with: A lime green kitten heel or a nude patent leather pump; this ensemble would flatter every body type since it accents the waist with a belt & highlights the legs & the arms.
Wear this to: Deuxave on Mass. Ave for a French martini with girlfriends or to Sunday Brunch at the Top of the Hub in the Prudential Tower.
The Mansfield Liv Bag: A simple & elegant mid-sized handbag to go from day to night; Winter to Summer.
Perfect when paired with: A wrap dress that features a pop of color like deep coral or skinny jeans, a trench & gold ballet flats.
Wear this to: The Liberty Hotel, in Beacon Hill, for live music on Saturday night or Newbury Street for a day of shopping.
The Glossy Garden Necklace: Baubles with chic flair to spruce up any simple outfit.
Perfect when paired with: A blazer & skinny jeans or a simple sleeveless dress in a pale color (come warmer months &/or vacation).
Wear this to: Date night & dancing at the Beehive in the South End or for Sangria at the Back Bay Met Bar.
The Bow Jacket: A sweet 3/4th sleeved jacket with simple detail & nautical undertones.
Perfect when paired with: A pair of skinny jeans with knee high brown leather robin hood boots &/or red patent leather ballet flats.
Wear this to: Bowling at Fenway's Lucky Strike; a day at the Museum in Cambridge; a day trip to the North End.
